What conditions must be met during installation?
Clear, concise answers.
To ensure your solid wood staircase remains beautiful and does not warp, the correct climatic conditions must prevail during installation:
Indoor climate: - Temperature: 18--24 degrees Celsius - Relative humidity: 30--60% - Ventilate regularly during the first heating season after moving in
Structural prerequisites: - Screed and plaster must be fully dried -- residual moisture can damage the wood - The deck opening must be large enough to bring in the staircase components - Load-bearing walls or ceilings for the fixing points
Site safety: - Clean, unobstructed work area - Sufficient space for handling the components
HTS checks these conditions during the survey and advises you on any preparatory work needed. Extreme temperatures or humidity should be avoided, as they can cause material deformation.
