How should I approach planning my staircase?

Clear, concise answers.

Careful planning avoids surprises later on. Here is how to proceed with HTS:

1. Clarify the basics: Where should the staircase go? Should it serve as a primary or secondary staircase? Is there already a deck opening?

2. Take key measurements: Measure the floor-to-floor height, deck opening, and available floor plan. With these 3--4 measurements, you can get a free preliminary phone quote from HTS.

3. Consultation: Together with HTS, you discuss stair shape, wood species, finish, and extras. HTS advises which solution is optimal for your room situation.

4. On-site survey: An HTS specialist precisely measures all details on-site (150 euros plus travel).

5. Review the quote: You receive a binding quote (valid for 14 days) based on the exact measurements.

Important for new builds: Plan the staircase position early. Pipes and underfloor heating must not be installed in the area where the staircase is fixed. The survey should only take place after screed and plaster are finished.
