Where does the wood come from?
Clear, concise answers.
The staircases from HTS are predominantly built from domestic woods sourced from European forestry -- particularly oak, beech, and ash. These woods come from controlled sources and are distinguished by high quality and short transport distances.
Using regional woods has several advantages: - Quality control: European woods are subject to strict quality standards - Short transport distances: Lower environmental footprint - Proven properties: Domestic woods such as oak and beech have been proven in staircase construction for centuries and are optimally adapted to local climate conditions
Hevea -- the wood used for colour-lacquered finishes -- comes from controlled plantation cultivation. Special woods such as acacia or walnut are sourced on request.
