What we build when we replace your staircase
We fully remove your old staircase and replace it with a new one made in our workshop in Witten. Construction type, wood and flight form are freely selectable — from the entry model in finger-jointed beech heartwood to a custom-designed oak folded staircase. Measuring, manufacture and installation are all handled by us.
- Entry model from approx. €3,000 — straight stringer staircase in finger-jointed beech heartwood, balustrade in finger-jointed beech (newel posts top and bottom, handrail, balusters on the open side only)
- Premium variants in oak, knotty oak, beech, beech heartwood, ash or hevea — oiled, clear-lacquered or white-lacquered
- Free choice of construction: stringer staircase (mortised or open-string), folded staircase (free-standing or on stringer beams), helical or spiral staircase
- Flight forms: straight, quarter- or half-turn, landing, Z- or U-shape
- Full service: on-site measurement, manufacture in Witten, removal of the old staircase, installation of the new — usually in a single appointment
Our process
On-site measuring and consultation
We measure the stairwell, floor heights and wall geometry on site — manually with folding rule, sliding bevel and rotating laser as a plumb reference. You see material and construction samples, we discuss options. Measuring fee €150-250, credited against the order.
Manufacture in our Witten workshop
Stringers, treads, risers and balustrade are built to the millimetre — no catalogue sizes because no catalogue rooms. While we manufacture, your old staircase keeps working as usual.
Replacement day: old staircase out, new one in
We remove the old staircase, install the new one and adjust it in place — usually all in one appointment. You do not need to move out or pause for long.
Renovation versus new build — the price comparison
Renovating an old solid wood staircase typically costs €2,500-3,000 for sanding, re-oiling or re-lacquering and small repairs. For a similar price you get a brand-new staircase from us — current standard instead of refurbished.
