Overlay Renovation
Renovation method by applying new treads over the existing surface.
In overlay renovation, new stair treads are glued or screwed directly onto the existing old treads. The old step serves as a base. This is the most common method of stair renovation, as the existing structure is preserved and no costly demolition is required. Important: the additional material thickness slightly increases the step height and overall rise — the headroom must therefore be checked during planning.
