Free passage height above a staircase.
The clear height is the vertical distance between the top of the tread surface and the underside of the overhead building element (ceiling, stair flight above). Above the walking line, it must be at least 200 cm to prevent users hitting their head. Clear height must be carefully checked during the planning phase.
