CAD-CAM in Stair Construction — Preparation steps
Category: Preparation steps
Integrated chain from digital stair design to CNC production.
CAD-CAM describes the continuous digital chain from design to production: a staircase is designed on the computer using CAD software (Computer-Aided Design) and the resulting geometric data is then translated via a postprocessor into machine instructions for CNC processing centres (Computer-Aided Manufacturing). This removes manual marking, eliminates transmission errors, and even makes complex curved staircases with many individual parts economically viable. Modern stair design software covers the entire process – from surveying, design, costing and visualisation through to machine control.
