CNC Production in Stair Construction — Preparation steps
Category: Preparation steps
Computer-controlled manufacturing of stair components on processing centres.
In CNC production, stair components – stringers, treads, handrail curves, handrails – are machined with high precision and full reproducibility on computer-controlled processing centres. The machines mill, drill, saw and profile the workpieces according to digital design data, typically using 4- or 5-axis heads. Compared to manual production, this delivers higher fit accuracy, shorter lead times and the ability to produce complex curved geometries economically. Common machine types are gantry and cantilever machines as well as dedicated stair-building machines. Workpieces are held down on console, grid or nesting tables using vacuum or pneumatic clamping.
