Category: Layout variation
Compact staircase with reduced dimensions.
Space-saving stairs are stair forms with a particularly small footprint, primarily serving as access to attics or galleries. They are often built as alternating-tread stairs or paddle stairs. DIN 18065 permits non-required stairs in single-family houses to have a rise-to-going ratio of up to 21/21 cm with a stair width from 50 cm.
