Walnut — Material species
Category: Material species
Elegant, dark hardwood for representative staircases.
European walnut, with its dark-brown to chocolate-brown colouring and strongly pronounced grain, ranks among the most elegant native timbers in stair construction. With a Brinell hardness of approximately 27 N/mm², it is somewhat softer than oak, but wins through its unique, lively appearance. Walnut staircases exude natural elegance and belong to the premium class — in both appearance and price.
