Hardwax oil combines the properties of oil and wax: the oil penetrates deep into the wood pores and accentuates the natural grain, while the wax forms a protective surface. The result is a matt to semi-matt, natural-looking surface that feels pleasant and can be spot-repaired. Hardwax oil is the most frequently recommended surface treatment for high-quality timber stairs — ecologically sound and easy to maintain.
