Waxing
Traditional surface treatment with a silky-matt sheen.
In waxing, a wax layer is applied to the wood surface and buffed. The result is a silky-matt sheen and a pleasant, natural feel. Wax provides basic protection against moisture and dirt but is less durable than oil or lacquer and must be renewed regularly. In practice, wax is now usually applied in combination with oil as hardwax oil.
