Fall Protection — Rule reference

Category: Rule reference

Collective term for all protective devices against falls on stairs.

Fall protection refers to devices that prevent people from falling on open stair sides, landings or galleries. These include railings, parapets, handrails and glass barriers. The minimum height depends on the fall height and building use: 90 cm for residential buildings, at least 110 cm for fall heights exceeding 12 m. Requirements are defined by DIN 18065 and regional building codes.
