HPL (High Pressure Laminate) — Glossary entry
Category: Glossary entry
High-pressure laminate — extremely durable surface material for stair treads.
HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is a composite material of paper and resin pressed under high pressure. The surface is up to 20 times harder than stair lacquer, non-porous, impact-resistant, UV-stable and requires no additional coating. HPL treads are available in numerous decors — from timber to stone to concrete effects. Thanks to its low weight, HPL is particularly suited for self-supporting constructions and modern design staircases.
