Railing Height
Prescribed minimum height of stair railings.
Railing height is measured vertically from the front edge of the step and depends on use and fall height. In residential premises it must be at least 90 cm, in workplaces 100 cm. For fall heights exceeding 12 m, a railing height of at least 110 cm is required. The handrail should be mounted at a height of 80–120 cm with a grip width of 45–60 mm.
