Fire-Retardant Stair — Layout variation

Category: Layout variation

Staircase with moderate fire-resistance duration (F30/F60).

Fire-retardant stairs (F30, F60) can be made of concrete or, with sufficient cross-section, also from combustible timber such as oak. They prevent fire spread for 30 or 60 minutes while maintaining stability. Such stairs are common in buildings with up to two full storeys.
