Galvanised — Glossary entry
Category: Glossary entry
Corrosion protection for metal parts through a zinc coating.
Galvanising is a process in which steel or metal components are coated with a layer of zinc to protect them from corrosion. Hot-dip galvanising (immersion in molten zinc) provides 20–25 years of corrosion protection and is the standard for outdoor stairs. Galvanised parts are weather-proof and low-maintenance.
