Support Bolt — Layout variation

Category: Layout variation

Connecting elements between treads in bolt staircases.

Support bolts are the metal connecting elements that couple individual treads in bolt staircases and transfer loads. They are mounted between the rear edges of adjacent treads and are usually made of stainless steel. Through the support bolts, a self-supporting tread chain is formed that requires no visible substructure, giving the staircase its characteristic, floating appearance.
