Double Bolt — Layout variation
Category: Layout variation
Double bolts for load transfer without wall fixing.
When no load-bearing wall is available for a self-supporting staircase, double bolts are used. Two successive structural elements (bolts) are installed to connect the treads and transfer the load. This solution is suitable for short spans up to approximately 1.20 m and is often used near windows, as an additional steel substructure can be avoided.
