Bochum hat einen hohen Anteil an Altbauten aus der Industrialisierungszeit — besonders in Stadtteilen wie Ehrenfeld, Altenbochum und Weitmar. Hier sind Gruenderzeit-Treppen die Regel, oft mit aufwendigen Wangen- und Geländer-Konstruktionen aus Eiche oder Buche. Viele unserer Bochum-Projekte umfassen den Ersatz alter Treppen durch neue Massivholz-Konstruktionen oder die Belegung vorhandener Betontreppen mit Holz. Im Neubau-Bereich (Markstrasse, Querenburg) sind helle Eiche mit weißen Setz-Stufen besonders beliebt.
